Public Transportation, Taxi Service and Bus Tours
It's relatively easy to get around the Island without a car.
The Vineyard Transit Authority
--VTA-- offers island-wide transit as well as seasonal shuttle service.
Routes cover all of the Island's main towns and roads, and stop regularly at
the steamship and airport terminals. Purchase either daily, weekly, or
monthly passes, or just hop on for a single ride.

Biking
Biking is one of the best ways to see the Island. There are
over 50 miles of bicycle paths on the Vineyard -- most run adjacent to
main streets, around the State Forest, or along the water. Bring your
own or rent bikes from one of the many bicycle shops.

Walking Tours
If you prefer to see the Island at a slower pace, we have
